Waterblock XE is a floating floor. For detailed installation instructions, please see this link.

Yes, Waterblock XE can be installed in bathrooms. Please refer to the installation guide provided here.

For Waterblock XE flooring, regular cleaning with a well-wrung mop and water is sufficient. If additional cleaning is needed, use a solution of 1 cup vinegar per gallon of water or 1/3 cup non-sudsing ammonia per gallon of water. Avoid detergents, abrasive cleaners, soaps, waxes, or polishes. The full care guidelines can be found here.

Waterblock XE comes in boxes containing 10 planks, covering 24.76 sq. ft. (2.30 m²) and weighing 18 kg. A pallet contains 50 boxes, covering 1238 sq. ft. (115.01 m²) and weighing 900 kg. A 20-foot container contains 20 pallets, covering 24760 sq. ft. (2300.27 m²).

Waterblock XE has an AC3 rating.

For Waterblock XE, the need for a vapour barrier depends on your subfloor. Concrete subfloors require a 6-mil polyethylene vapour barrier. Wooden subfloors do not require a vapour barrier unless there is a crawl space underneath, in which case you should place a 6-mil polyethylene vapour barrier over the ground in the crawl space.

Waterblock XE requires an additional underlay. With a concrete subfloor, you need to add a 6-mil polyethylene vapour barrier. With a wooden subfloor, no additional barrier is needed besides the underlay beneath the floor. If you have a wooden subfloor with a crawl space underneath, we recommend placing a 6-mil polyethylene vapour barrier over the ground in the crawl space.

We recommend avoiding area rugs and mats made with natural rubber or latex, as they can cause discolouration on the floor. Urethane-backed and felt-backed rugs are safe options. For furniture, we suggest using felt or other non-abrasive protectors to prevent damage to the floor.

Off-the-shelf cleaners can damage the flooring or cause a residue build-up, which may affect the floor's appearance and performance. Additionally, damage resulting from improper maintenance is not covered under the warranty. If such cleaners damage the flooring, it would not be considered a defect in the product itself.

Waterblock XE can be cut using a circular saw with a 40T carbide blade.

Waterblock XE is designed to be installed as a floating floor only. Using glue or any adhesive to secure the floor will void the warranty.

Waterblock XE is only sold by the carton.

Waterblock XE is waterproof from the top down. As long as the installation is done correctly, with tight seams and a properly sealed outer perimeter, it can withstand everyday household spills. However, if water seeps underneath the planks, it could cause damage.

For general cleaning, use a dust mop or a vacuum cleaner with a hard surface attachment. For deeper cleaning, occasionally use a well-wrung mop with water only. DO NOT pour liquid directly onto the floor or use an excessively wet mop that may leave puddles or standing moisture. If needed, you can use a solution of 1 cup of vinegar per gallon of water or 1/3 cup of non-sudsing ammonia per gallon of water.

Laminate flooring cannot be installed over existing laminate because both floors are floating installations. This would result in an unstable floor.

Waterblock XE is scratch-resistant but not scratch-proof.

Waterblock XE is recommended for indoor use only.

If the linoleum is installed over concrete, a vapour barrier is required. The linoleum must also be fully adhered, and the subfloor must be flat.

This product can be installed as a DIY project or by a professional installer. To maintain the warranty, the installation guide must be followed.

We do not recommend this type of installation, and it is not covered under warranty.

The span for laminate flooring before requiring a break or transition profile is up to 12 metres (40 feet) in either direction and in doorways or openings of 1.2 metres (4 feet) or less. For double openings or wider doorways, the floor can be installed without a transition profile as long as the run does not exceed 12 metres (40 feet).

Yes, it can be installed over tile, provided the subfloor is clean, flat, dry, and secure, and meets all local building code requirements.

If you have weight or exercise equipment, we recommend using flat, non-staining composition furniture protectors of an appropriate size under the legs or base of the equipment. To avoid potential damage, always lift and place weights or equipment gently on the floor rather than sliding it across the surface.

Waterblock XE requires a clean, dry, and secure subfloor that meets local building codes. Remove any bumps or peaks from the subfloor and fill depressions with a floor levelling compound to ensure unevenness does not exceed 4.7 mm (3/16 inch) over a 3-meter (10-foot) span. As long as the ceramic floor meets these requirements, Waterblock XE can be installed on top.

We recommend installing your kitchen cabinets first and then laying the Waterblock XE flooring afterward. Waterblock XE is a floating floor and must be allowed to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes. Floor movement should not be constrained by fixed obstructions like cabinets.
